IPL 2025 Auction:

The 18th IPL 2025 season would see a mega auction in IPL history. It is a hallmark event of cricket that occurs every three years. Before each mega auction, teams are permitted to retain up to four players. The opportunity would be provided to franchises to create their teams. A limited option will be provided to retain their players. 

The Mega Auction Date: 

It is anticipated that the Mega IPL Auction will occur in December 2024 and February 2025 for two days.  The 18th edition of the IPL may occur around the same time as previous ones.

Number of Retained Players By The Team:

For each franchise, the retained player’s number is 3 to 4, as stated by the IPL Governing Chairman Mr. Arun Dhumal. However, it will depend only on the final decision of BCCI. 

The Venue:

To date, there is no official confirmation for the IPL 2025 Venue. The upcoming IPL season is likely to be played in the same home as all previous seasons and away format like IPL 2024.

The Squad Composition Rules: 

The number of players per team will be a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 25. Four overseas players will be allowed to field at once out of a maximum of Eight players.
